The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is a global initiative to respond to climate change through financing and investing into low-emission (mitigation) and climate-resilient (adaptation) development.
BCI is pursuing accreditation to the GCF. The Cook Islands 7th GCF Readiness Support Programme Scaling up Green Finance Practices (R7) is driven by BCI in partnership with Climate Change Cook Islands to progress from stage 1 through stages 2 and 3 of a 3-staged accreditation process and related capacity building initiatives.
The following roles are required for the implementation of R7:
Responsible for facilitating the effective implementation of the programme and supporting the delivery by mobilizing the components, budget and resources efficiently including meeting reporting milestones.
Provides expertise in GCF accreditation standards for on-lending and takes the lead to implement activities for GCF accreditation process, including the design and implementation of policies and structured training modules in sustainable green finance.
Will work at a hands-on level supporting accreditation process for on-lending commensurate with local banking context in the writing of and implementation of policies and standards, including facilitating a structured training program.
Development of the communication tools including but not limited to the design, the content, and the delivery to stakeholders to raise awareness on BCI’s engagement with the GCF.
Responsible to coordinate peer-to peer study-exchanges with GCF Accredited Entities, and collate the BCI Knowledge Library for the management of climate finance.
Program intended commencement for all roles is early May 2022.
